Partnership with Talgo
Russian Railways signs agreement with Spanish Talgo for new trains.
A new contract has been signed between Russian Railways and Spansih company Talgo for the design, manufacture and approval of three new high speed trains to supply the Moscow-Berlin route using the new Talgo automatic gauge changing system, as well as four trains for the Moscow-Kiev route. The Talgo trains will be high speed trains travelling at 200 km/h.

This is significant for Russian Railways because wil save in not having to invest in infrastructure.
Russia is a big and important market for Talgo, and with it's automatic gauge changing technology, Russia can be more easily linked with Europe.
