Russian Railways presents modernized second class cabin

The new carriages have been developed by the Transmashholding for the Russian Railways. Between the two companies has been signed an agreement for the construction of 3.7 thousand passenger carriages — the double and single decker, 2nd and 3rd class carriages.

The modernized 2nd class cabin is now on display at the Rizhskiy Railway Station in Moscow. The new carriages' design has beige walls and blue berths. The public facilities include shower, fridge, and a microwave. The lower berths can be used as a comfortable couch when folded, while the upper berths are almost invisible and look as a part of the wall. The table has electric slots and can be folded when needed.

The developers have enabled the possibility to adjust the temperature inside the carriage. In addition, passengers will be able to open windows in the corridor and in the cabin on their own.

This is the first time when the carriages for the massive production have been equipped with the shower rooms. The public service area of the carriage can be equipped with the vending machine, water purifier, microwave, and a fridge.
