Nice to Moscow Train Route

Nice to Moscow is one of the longest trans-European rail routes. Its length is 2958 km. The train passes through 8 countries including France, Monaco, Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Belarus, and Russia. The trip takes about 2 days. On the Belarus – Poland border, the train wheels are changed to fit the Russian train gauge. A Belarus transit visa is required for the trip.

There is only one train running on the Nice to Moscow route, which operates once a week. The same train runs on the Moscow to Nice route.

Nice - Moscow

The Moscow to Nice train has been operating since September 23rd, 2010. Prior to this, there was train connection between Russia and the French Riviera only during tsarist times. In 2015, to mark the 150th anniversary of the railway connection between France and Russia the train was considerably upgraded.
