Caravaggio works in Moscow
Caravaggio works soon to go on display at the State Pushkin Museum in Moscow
The State Pushkin Museum in Moscow will soon be hosting an exhibition of works by Michelangelo da Caravaggio, one of the worlds most famous artists from the 17th century who transformed European painting.
The exhibition, which will open on the 26th of November, will included a remarkable 11 canvasses of the famed artist. Previously, no other exhibtion in the world or country has displayed more than two Caravaggio works. The exhibition will be one the of the highlights of the Year of Italy in Russia.
Among the works to be on display are "St. Jerome Writing," "A Boy with a Basket of Fruit," "Sleeping Cupid" and possibly the artist's 1602 masterpiece "The Entombment of Christ."
This will be a fantastic and unprecedented exhibition, if you're in Moscow it is a must see.
