The flooding in the Irkutsk region. Russian Railways provides assistance to the victims.

The Russian Railways has organized assistance to the flood victims of the Irkutsk regions. Starting from 27th of June, in the Irkutsk region, brought into force the emergency situation regime. The automobile infrastructure has been partly destroyed due to the flood; the Tulun bridge, and federal route Krasnoyarks - Irkutsk are temporarily closed. Though, the railways have not been affected; the trains' operations throughout the days have been monitored and carried out under the supervision of specialists and have gone according to the schedule.

The operating company has formed 12 overflood trains; 19 fire engine trains and 12 emergency trains are operating on 24 hours basis. For the extermination of the consequences of the flood, the railway workers are providing to the municipalities automotive vehicles and facilities for evacuation and allocation of people.

Oleg Belozerov, the chairman of the board, has commented that at present time, in the region, only railways are operating, therefore they carry the responsibility to provide all possible assistance in this situation.
