The waiting lounge for the people with disabilities has opened at Kazansky Railway Station

Kazansky station in Moscow has opened the waiting lounge for people with disabilities.

At the Kazansky station in Moscow has opened the waiting lounge for people with disabilities. In a new comfortable space of over 50 sq. m. are installed: seats, sofas, the wending machines, the board with the trains' schedule. The waiting area also is equipped with shower and sanitary facilities, which are fully furnished to meet the requirements of the disabled people.

The services of the reception desk are always available. The administrator of the reception desk coordinates the work of the railway station's assistance service, advice regarding the services of the Mobility Assistance Center of JSC "Russian Railways" and helps with the application forms to the Mobility Assistance Center of JSC "Russian Railways". The new waiting lounge can be accessed free of charge with the filled application form.

The separate waiting area for the impaired people is a pilot project, which in future can be implemented in other railway stations as well. The Kazansky railway station has been selected due to the intensive passenger flow, as well as due to the high demand for the services of the Mobility Assistance Center. The personnel of the Center daily receives 40 requests for assistance; they meet passengers, help with the purchase of the tickets and luggage transportation, escort people to the carriage.

The Mobility Assistance Centers operate on every railway station in Moscow. During the first half of the year, in the capital, the centers have served 14 thousand people. In total, across Russia, 100 000 people with disabilities have been assisted by the workers of the Mobility Centers.

The Mobility Assistance Centers operate continuously throughout the day without days off.
