Octyabrskaya Railway in the Murmansk Region implements "Environmental safety assurance" program

According to the overall results of the Octyabrskaya Railway in the Murmansk Region, during 7 months in 2019, it became possible to diminish the environmental emissions from the station sources by 0.39 tonnes (by 3,2%). The amount of wastewaters has been reduced by 0,868 thousands sq. m., which means by 7,4%.
The railway workers constantly organize events directed towards improving environmental consciousness. The voluntary litter clearance days, as well as tree planting days, are typical events of such kind. Within the framework "Green record", the railway workers have planted over 500 trees in the city center and near the Murmansk Railway Station.
In the end of 2018 on the territory of the roundhouse in Murmansk has been opened new complex of the waste treatment facilities of the industrial wastewater. The project has been implemented within the frameworks of the investment program of the Russian Railways "Environmental safety assurance". As a result of the reconstruction of waste treatment facilities, has been placed into use the principally new technological scheme of the purification. It includes the electrochemical and physicochemical treatment of effluents through electroflotation with further purification through the filter with polystyrene ladling.
